- Your WhatsApp phone number — automatically received when you message us, used to identify your account and track your question quota.
- Your conversation messages — the questions you send and the responses FarmVisor provides, used to generate accurate, context-aware answers and to improve the service.
- Farm details you share — such as your county, crop type, livestock, or farm size. This information is used only to improve the relevance of your answers.
- Payment records — transaction confirmation details from M-Pesa or SasaPay (transaction ID, amount, and date), used to activate and track your subscription. We do not receive or store your M-Pesa PIN or bank account details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
- To provide farming advice and answer your questions via WhatsApp.
- To manage your account, track your question quota, and activate paid plans.
- To send follow-up messages if you ask about a crop disease or pest issue (e.g., a check-in to see if the treatment worked).
- To improve FarmVisor's accuracy and knowledge base over time.
- To respond to support requests or complaints.
4. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not store your M-Pesa PIN, bank account details, or full payment card information.
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
- We do not share your data with government agencies unless required by Kenyan law.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
